Nika Guliashvili

Biography

After studying at the Faculty of Law at the University, Nika Guliashvili learned at Tbilisi Conservatoire during six years which he graduated in 2003.  Afterwards he joined the troupe of Zakharia Paliashvili Academic Theatre. As a soloist he has performed Monterone (G. Verdi's Rigoletto), a Monk (G. Verdi's Don Carlos), Masetto (Don Giovanni by W.A. Mozart), the Old Gypsy (Aleko by S.  Rachmaninov), Sarastro (die zauberflot by W. A. Mozart), Il Re (G. Verdi’s Aida), Basilio (The Barber of Seville by G. Rossini) and Abio (Z. Paliashvili’s  Abesalom da Eteri). From 2007 to 2009 he was undergoing the training at the National Centre for Lyrical Artists of Marseille: from now on his career acquires the international scales. In 2008 he performed the role of Mephistopheles (C. Gounod's Faust, Hibiia kokaido in Tokyo).  In 2009 he performed Gualtiero Valton (Bellini's Puritans, Opera Toulon, conducted by Giuliano Carella), The Bear (The Unexpected Swallow by Simon Laks, Theatre Toursky in Marseille) together with Jean-Philippe Laffont and Marie Laforet, Banco (Macbeth by G. Verdi in Bergen) and in 2010 - Sparafucille (Verdi's Rigoletto in Tbilisi), Angelotti (Tosca by Puccini in Bombay) and Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizetti in Metz, conducted by Alain Guingal. Since 2011 we have found him in the role of Kuno (CM Von Weber, A Freischütz ("freeshooter") at the Toulon Opera conducted by Laurence Equibey and at the Opera of Saint-Etienne conducted by Laurent Campellone. He performed in Shostakovich's The Nose on the Festival of Eksan-Provence and at the Lyon Opera conducted by Kazushi Ono; he sang the role of Commendatore (Don Giovanni by W.A. Mozart) in Tbilisi and the role of Timur (Turandot by G. Puccini) at the Bergen Opera. In 2013 he sang the roles of Herod and Family father in the Childhood of Christ (by H. Berlioz) in Avignon and he made his debut at the Montpellier Opera - komik and in Corum Saint Corentin in The King of Ys (by E. Lalo) together with Sophie Koch and Franck Ferrari conducted by Patrick Davin. He also was Omar in A. Weber’s Abu Hassan at the Herblay Theatre and Commander in W.A. Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Operas of Tours and Reims. Nika Guliashvli also conducts an active career as a solo singer together with such outstanding pianists such as Gilles Nicolas and Nino Pavlenishvili (The National Residence of the Invalids, the Paris City Hall, Ranelagh Theatre, City of Arts, Yerres Chateau, Les Musicales de Montreuil) and he begins the Church music repertoire with Verdi's Requiem in Mans Congress Palace and in Alencon, W.A Mozart's Requiem at the Church of Saint-Germain (Paris) and Stabat Mater by G. Rossini at the Invalides. In 2014 he sang the Requiem of W.A. Mozart in Massy Opera conducted by Dominique Rouits and Stabat Mater of A.Dvorak at the Invalides. He also personifies the role of High Priest of Belus in Verdi's Nabucco within the frames of Lyrical Nights Sanxay. He will sing again the Requiem of Mozart at the Church of Saint-Eustache in Paris together with the Republican Guard and Vittoria Choir conducted by Michel Piquemal and François Boulanger. In November, 2014 he was listened to the role of Sarastro of The Magic Flute by W.A. Mozart in a Tour around France with Ramfis Production. In 2015 he will be Don Basilio in Rossini's Barber of Seville at the Theatre of San Sebastian (Spain),Sparafucile in Verdi’s Rigoletto in Soustons Festival and The Mandarin in Puccini’s Turandot in Festival Lyrique du Sanxay.
